Pods

Christmas 2009 was a crazy one! Vic came down to visit. She arrived on Dec. 2oth and on the 21st we had the movers come to move us to the new house. We spent the next few days unpacking the house, the kitchen especially since we were having Christmas at our house. Vic washed a lot of glasses and dishes. Mike's parents also helped greatly with the packing and moving of stuff before the movers came. One thing I'll tell anyone who's planning to move or move twice like we did, is get a pod (portable on demand storage container). They drop the container off in your driveway, you fill it up with stuff you need to store and they come pick it up. When you need it back you call them and they'll deliver it to your new address. You unload it at your leisure and then they'll come pick it up. If you need to get something from it in between those time you call them and they'll make it accessible to you. Better than a storage unit wher you have to load it, unload it, then load it up again then unload it again. Plus they keep it in an air conditioned warehouse for you. Love it!

New House

Our new house should be ready soon - less than 3 weeks. We plan to be in before Christmas. It is an exciting time! Her's a few pic's. The kids have fun going to check out the house and the progression on their rooms. We are all looking forward to spending this Christmas in our house! It will be hectic, but good.

3 Weeks to go!

This is our old house that we sold in July

It had a great porch.

Well, we sold our house in July. Mike was tired of the long commute and traffic and we were all tired of the small space, which was getting smaller with the addition of toys. So we moved out of the house at the end of July and are currently living in an apartment. We are all tired of living of living in the apartment and excited to be moving into our new house which should be finished soon! We'll be moving in just in time for Christmas!

Halloween 2009

This year we went trick-or-treating with Harrison in Allen, TX. Isabella went as a giraffe, Daniela was a zebra and Harrison was a spider. They had lots of fun. Daniela carried her own pumpkin and wouldn't let anyone help carry it for her. She learned real quick about the candy getting process. A lot of people let the little kids take two candies. Well that wasn't lost on Daniela. She would keep grabbing the candy until they took the bowl away. Isabella was more shy and would usually take one and a second if they told her it was okay. There was even a full moon on Halloween.

Sorry, it's been a long time.....

Wow, it's been almost a year since I posted anything. Sorry, It's just it's really hard to find the time lately. So what's happened since my last post? Lots of stuff, that I hope to post real soon. I guess the biggest thing is that we sold our house and are in the process of building a new one. In the meantime we are living in an apartment. I hate living in an apartment. I especially hate this one since we have an ant problem. Anyways keep checking and hopefully I'll have the year caught up shortly.

Daniela's Baptism

Yesterday we celebrated Daniela's Baptism. She was baptized at St. Ann's in Coppell, the same church where Isabella was baptized. Here's Daniela getting dressed in her special onesie and shoes.

Here's Daniela laughing (before she was doused with the cold baptismal water)
Our pretty angel

Father is giving her the sign of the cross.

My cousins Marc and Maria are Daniela's godparents. Here Maria is holding Daniela over the water fountain while father baptizes her. She cried and cried once that cold water hit her forhead.

Daniela posing with Nonna.
Mike'a aunt Barbara and uncle John who live in Georgia came and helped us celebrate this special day. It was great to see them.

Gabrielle, Vittoria and Maria. Nice picture. I can't believe how tall goobs has gotten.

Here's Grandma and Grandpa, Caitlin and Isabella.
Isabella was very good in church. She's such a ham!

A family photo of just the four of us.

Godmother Maria and Gabrielle.

After church we all went to Maggiano's for a celebratory lunch. We had a good time. They gave us a great room with a terrace. It was such a beautiful day and we actually got to use the terrace. Here's Isabella enjoying some of the great food

Surgery - Crazy Day!

Isabella enjoying a book being read to her by Grandpa.
She actually called him Papa.
What a crazy day yesterday was. Mike and I both went in for surgery. He had his umbilical hernia fixed and I had my gall bladder removed. Thank goodness my mom and Mike's dad were here! Mike's dad came to stay for a couple of days to help out. I'd been having pain in my side since I was pregnant and didn't know what was causing it. First I had CT scan done which showed an enlarged spleen which is a symptom of something else being wrong. So then I had an ultrasound and a 3D body scan done. They both showed gallstones. I had an appointment with the sugeon yesterday morning and surgery that afternoon. They took out the gall bladder and two stones the size of large olives. So hopefully now the pain will be gone and my spleen return to normal. One stone was caught in the tube so good thing I had it taken out when I did. I'm a little mad that they didn't find it when I went to the emergency room while I was pregnant with Daniela and had pain and difficulty breathing. The doctor did every other test except check my gallbladder like my OB and family doctor asked him too. So now we're both home for a bit recuperating.
